Hinesville hosts lunchtime concert

HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - Downtown Hinesville was one of the hottest places to be Friday afternoon and it had nothing to do with the temperature.

The Hinesville Arts Council, the Downtown Development Authority and others hosted their monthly lunchtime concert in the park. The Ben Robinson Band entertained folks who found a bench or table to get out of their offices and enjoy their day.

"We're trying to bring families downtown, businesses downtown, we just want to keep it all in downtown," said Jessica Sanchez of the Downtown Development Authority.

Robinson is originally from coastal Georgia and has played with ZZ Top and on Late Night with David Letterman.

This marked the third event in the lunchtime concert series, which takes place from 11:30am to 1:30pm on the third Friday of each month.

Tunecore and Universal Music group team up!

LOS ANGELES, July 9 CA-Universal-Music

LOS ANGELES, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), the award winning sales and marketing division of Universal Music Group, the world's leading music company, has entered into a strategic alliance with TuneCore, a leading digital music distribution company. The announcement was made today by Jim Urie, President & CEO of UMGD and Jeff Price, Founder & CEO of TuneCore.

As part of this agreement, TuneCore will provide and host distribution portals for UMG's labels as well as partner labels and artists. Further, as an artist's career grows, they may benefit from having a number of artist-discovery, marketing and upstreaming opportunities within the UMGD system.

This partnership further expands UMG's growing portfolio of strategic media alliances, while enhancing the services and opportunities that UMGD provides partner labels and artists. UMGD will also provide TuneCore's customers with a comprehensive menu of artist services, including licensing opportunities and professional audio mastering. Additionally, Guitar Center, also a TuneCore investor and strategic partner, will provide to UMGD access to its entire chain of over 200 stores nationwide as a non-traditional retail channel for the sale of physical product which includes select TuneCore artist titles.

"Our agreement with TuneCore highlights UMGD's commitment to a strong sales philosophy and long-term artist development," stated Mr. Urie. "UMGD is uniquely positioned to provide the most flexible and comprehensive digital and physical distribution, sales and marketing services in the industry, all of which results in more profitable opportunities for both our labels and our artists."

"Honestly, Universal is one of the most forward thinking record labels on the planet," commented Mr. Price. "With this deal UMGD has truly changed the rules and the major label model by providing true choice for a musician. If an artist is doing well, there is a direct line through which UMGD can extend its hand or, via the existing TuneCore model, the artist can choose to continue to succeed on their own. It is the continuation of the shift to serve the musician."

Michael Jackson

This SUCKS! Never should have happend. The people around Michael must have been untalented cowards, not wanting to rock the boat and lose thier meal ticket.

A harrowing picture of Pop King Michael Jackson—bald, bruised, broken ribs, stomach without food and having undigested tablets-has come out from his autopsy report.
According to sources, Michael Jackson’s body had become a skeleton as he ate only one time in twenty- four hours. At the time of death he weighed only 50 kg, which was too low for a man of five feet ten inches height. His hips, thighs and shoulders were riddled with needle marks, showing the signs of injections that he took to lessen pain. He was bald and wearing a wig to hide it. Even his ribs were broken, perhaps the result of frantic pumping to revive him. Finally, there were four needle wounds near Michael’s heart; perhaps they were from failed attempts to restart his heart by injecting adrenaline into it directly.

Michael Jackson’s face was in even more bad condition and looked like a mass of scars from his thirteen cosmetic operations, which he had undergone to enhance his looks. Even the bridge of Jackson’s nose had disappeared, with the right side of it a little bit caving in.

The skin above Michael Jackson’s left ear was completely bald and looked scarred. However, it is said to be the result of an accident that he had in year 1984, while shooting for an advertisement for the soft drink giant Pepsi.

In the meantime, LA Superior Court has allowed Michael Jackson’s mother to take the custody of his children—Prince Michele, 12, Paris, 11 and Prince Michael II, 7. However, the court did not agree to her request to become the temporary guardian of children’s estate.

The family of the Pop Icon is preparing for his last rites, which might be even bigger than that of Princess Diana, which had been attended by 250,000 people in London and watched by around 2.5 billion people all over the world. Sources say that the Jackson family is planning to bury the Pop King at his fantasy themed abode, Neverland.

In another revelation, Michael Jackson’s ex- wife has said that Pop King was not the real father of her son Prince. In fact, she had gone for artificial insemination from an anonymous donor and the children were handed over to Jackson in a deal worth millions of dollars.
