The Bank and Blues in Daytona Beach Florida

Ben recently played a blues benefit in Daytona Beach Florida at the Bank and Blues and just loved it. "Man, it is by far one of the best places I have ever played, what an atmosphere, when you go to Daytona, do not miss this place. Jeff Fedora who heads up the Daytona Blues Society is great, and is a wicked player in his own right.
The band was superb as well".

Comments from a new fan!

Just got back from our little annual community street festival. A few blocks of a street blocked off for half a day and all kinds of booths setup, etc. There's a small stage and the first performers were these young guys. Reading their bass drum it said 'BEN ROBINSON BAND'. They tore right into a blues song and I about dropped my soda. This kid was tearing it up on guitar the leads were blistering. At the end, they said there was a song they wanted to play that required the drummer to play 2 parts and the guitarist to play 3 parts.... they were going to give it a shot.... I knew it right away... Allman Brothers Whipping Post. Amazing.

If you hear these guys are playing somewhere locally in your area... check'em out. Here I went for the kettle corn and marine dog training demonstration and by chance I end up listening to an amazing live performance and scoring 5 CDs for $5 at a book sale that was also happening there. (I scored 3 Gaswirt Yes remasters, 1 Rush remaster and
a Philips digital classics Beethoven (Claudio Arrau) made in France PDO. A good day! :)

Concert Review

Concert Review: Blues Bash Rocks Mountain Winery

The day started off warm and only got hotter, but the glaring sun and the warm air couldn't even begin to compare with the smokin' guitars on stage.
From the opening notes of Blackthorne Murray (led by Robb Bower, our host for the day), to the last note of Alan Iglesias and Crossfire, we were treated to fine performances by all.

Besides Robb (who really put on a terrific event), the star of the show was Ben Robinson. I say that without the least bit of hesitation. Ben has the composure and phrasing of a seasoned professional, the exuberance of youth, and a passion for music that's apparent in every bright, shiny note. Ben is well on his way to becoming the new great blues rocker of tomorrow. You can count on it.

"This guy is straight from Mt. Olympus.”

A musician who was in the audience listening to an impromptu performance by Ben Robinson was moved to make that statement, and friends, I will gush just like a fan myself and say that hearing Ben live for the first time in more than a few years was one of those times when you know you are blessed to be a part of something so very, very special.

No brooding, angry, attitude-laden wannabe, Ben Robinson is a young man in love. The object of Ben’s love, his favorite Fender Stratocaster, responds to Ben's musical affection and touch in a manner reminiscent of the relationship between a certain Mr. King and his famed “Lucille.”

I see now why Billy Gibbons reacted to Ben in the way that he did. Ben is one of THOSE guys, the ones that only come around once or twice in a lifetime.

Let me make something very clear here: no matter who you know, no matter who you have seen, they are not Ben Robinson. This guy is THE next guitar god.

Hot clubs in a rush to book Ben Robinson

"There is a prevailing thought that Ben may not be available for some of the smaller venue's states 633 Music Group partner Monte Willis, but nothing could be further from the truth. Ben will play the great clubs as long as it does not create over crowding problems, we always want it to be a high quality and comfortable experience for everyone, including the club owners.

Ben loves to be right there with crowd, he thrives on that closeness, so he will play those smaller venue's for as long as it is feasible".

We invite you to tell your favorite club about Ben and have them contact Clint Simpson at Sound Kitchen http://www.soundkitchenproductions.com/

David Z

We think Z is one of the best producers on the planet.

David Z, also known as David Rivkin, is an award-winning producer, engineer, mixer, and writer who has an ability, as well as a knack, for finding and developing independent, cutting-edge artists into hugely impactful stars. Whether it be with Prince on "Purple Rain," the Fine Young Cannibals on "The Raw and the Cooked," Jonny Lang's "Lie to Me," Kenny Wayne Shepherd on "Ledbetter Heights," or Big Head Todd & the Monsters' "Sister Sweetly," all had their careers take off by their early work with David.

Currently based in Nashville, TN, David has honed his craft through a wide variety of projects and genres, ranging from Storyville to Frank Black to Buddy Guy to Leo Kottke to Gov't Mule to Angelique Kidjo to his Grammy-winning work with Etta James. In addition, his interest in arranging and songwriting continues his co-writing experience early on with Gram Parsons, which everyone from Elvis Costello to Yo La Tengo has covered.

David Z has been busy recently finishing up the music/sound for an impending Rossington's Concert DVD, out soon on Sanctuary. In addition, he's been doing lots of demo work in Nashville with a variety of artists, soon to be an even easier proposition for him, as he's recently set up a new studio on Music Row!

Ben Robinson on Brad Paisley

When people speak of guitar legends or innovators, the country music hot hands rarely even get an honorable mention. For most outside of country music, once you get past Chet Adkins that just about does it, but with the emergence of Brad Paisley that view seems to be changing.

Ben Robinson, considered one of the world's most exciting young blues/rock players, had this to say about Brad: "The first time I heard him, I could not believe my ears, this guy was smoking just unbeliveable. Brad Paisley can hold his own with anybody from any genre on any stage no matter who they are. He has a lot of people taking a second look at some of the new country players with a whole new respect".

Ben Robinson

21 year old Ben Robinson has been booked on many local and national shows such as Donny and Marie, The Late Show with David Letterman, Martin Short and he even pulled a stint with super drummer Tony Royster Jr. in the Nickelodeon super band produced by Paul Shafer.

Of Ben's performance on the Letterman show Paul stated privately, and of course we are declassifying it, "Of all the guests that have ever sat in with the band, no one has ever done it like Ben".

Commenting on a recent performance, Legendary guitarist Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame, had this to say about Ben, "I have seen a lot of smokin hot blues guitar players in my day, but I ain't never heard anyone like Ben".

Ben is writing songs for his new album to be released in early 2008.

Ben Robinson and Garth Brooks

What Can a Guitar Hero Learn from Garth Brooks? Ben Robinson, the next big thing in the world of guitar scorchers, credit's superstar Garth Brooks for one of his most important lessons when it comes to building a fan base. "I remember being told at an early age, I think I was ten years old, about how Garth would stay until the last fan was taken care of and happy, one time he even stayed when they turned out all the lights! It made such an impression on me, and now, I try to stay until the last fan is gone, or security runs us off".
Ben Robinson is a 622 Music Group label mate of Juno award winners Ennis. You can see Ben live at a Daytona Blues Society benefit at Ben.
